-1 error during upload
« on: January 13, 2013, 08:26:23 am »
So my Digisparks just arrived and I am struggling to get them to work. I have followed the starting steps (setting board and programmer to Digispark). When I go to upload the example "Start" I receive the error following this paragraph. I have tested this on all three of my Digisparks and across two computers (Hackintosh desktop running OSX 10.8.2 and 2008 MacBook running OSX 10.6.8) using the same USB extension cord and directly connecting the Digispark to the computer's USB 2.0 port. I would love to get these working, I'm new to microcontrollers and am excited to learn how to program them. Additionally when I try to upload a sketch on the desktop it does a number on the USB controller (unusual mouse movements, usb drives losing connection, and wireless disconnects) and I usually have to restart the machine.

gjstarett - can you try on the Desktop plugged directly into the rear USB ports, making sure to plug it firmly in and not move or wiggle it once plugged in? Let me know how that goes and we\'ll go from there.

Thanks,
Erik

I had to plug mine into a powered USB hub. I tried two of the three USB ports on my laptop, tried an unpowered hub, but only a Belkin 7-port powered hub got me joy.
