Escape quotes in DigiKeyboard.print

I can't work out how to print a string containing quotes.  If I try:

--- Code: ---DigiKeyboard.print("\"quoted text\"");
--- End code ---
the \" characters come out as '@' symbols.  Is this to do with keyboard layouts?
