DigiUSB - Digispark vs. Digispark Pro

I can get the DigiUSB examples to work with the original Digispark, but switching to the Digispark Pro the board seems to lock up.

For instance, using DigiBlink example and the "monitor" app that is part of the DigisparkExamplePrograms-master:
It works as expected with the Digispark:

Sent: s
Start

Red 10

Sent:
Green 10

Sent:
Blue 10

On the Digispark Pro I get:

Sent: s
Sta

And it seems the digispark becomes unresponsive.

Anyone have similar issues, or have an idea why it behaves differently?
