The Oak Wiki has the following recommendation re: the Arduino IDE:

Quote
Due to bugs in the Arduino 1.6.6 and 1.6.7 IDEs we strongly suggest using 1.6.5r2 (for all boards not just ours)

I have been using 1.6.9 since available and have no issues that I have been able to identify.  Anyone else using 1.6.9 or tried it and had to revert?

The recommendation may be outmoded and might be a bit off-putting to new users.  Or just not an issue to worry about?

Certainly, if you have 1.6.9 running for other Arduino IDE compatible products, I would say just use it till you have a problem.

With the introduction of 1.6.9, I believe that advice to now be outdated. I have been using 1.6.9 since it's release, and I personally skipped 1.6.6 through to 1.6.8 due to glitches in serial processing, issues with the library heirarchy order, etc.

However, as I don't 100% know for certain the reason for Erik giving this recommendation, I haven't removed that warning myself. However, since that was the state of things in March, there is a fair chance that it no longer applies.

The specific version Erick recommends (r2) is no longer easily available - the cc website is at r4

I'll get rid of the r2 reference, that is unimportant at best. It simply means they have re-released the install package due to a packaging glitch, and that no changes have been made to the code/API.
