Local Update also failed, for one and worked for others

Hi All,

I have 5 Oaks with me and i have Two which are yet to be updated they are just ket aside.

OS : Mac Yosemite 10.10.3
Laptop : Win 7

First OAK
https://digistump.com/wiki/oak/tutorials/connecting
1. Now when you boot an oak for first time , it start blinking status led after sometime which is correct.
2. then opened this : http://rawgit.com/digistump/OakSoftAP/master/config.html
3. Logged in my particle account
4. connected to my oak
5. Specified Wifi Settings
6. It ran but the LED did not blink rapidly as mentioned, the normal blinks continued.
7. On check it showed update has failed

https://digistump.com/wiki/oak/tutorials/local_update
So i setup Local update method on OSX using the local server and got an ip:port http url using this guide
Fired this url on my win 7 machine
again steps 2 to 7 and no rapid blinking , just normal blinks

No Luck :(

Now i just kept Oak 1 aside.

Oak 2 and Oak 3
Tried Oak 2 and Oak 3 using Local method and it worked great both the Oaks updated successfully
And there are added in my Particle dashboard.
:)

Is my Oak 1 damaged or dud ?
Is there any other way to trouble shoot it ?

So you can configure the first Oak to connect to your wireless, but it doesn't seem to be updating? If even the Local server isn't doing anything, and you don't get a message saying the Oak is even trying to connect, I would move onto the serial update method. As far as the fast blinks whilst updating, it is possible it only flickers once or twice, and then just gives up, or is having trouble connecting, so it doesn't to it.

I tired my fourth board and the firmware update was a success but it did not connect to particle cloud dashboard my second and third board worked correctly.

I have a FTDI chip USB UART with 3.3 and 5V selector , i am assuming this works with 3.3V

Will try this out and update.
Will this serial update method also register the board with particle cloud.

That FTDI board should be fine. To register your fourth Oak on Particle, have a look at these instructions.

The serial update *should* still register your board... as far as I am aware it is just skipping the "download firmware from the cloud" and putting the firmware directly on.
