Can't seem to complete setup
« on: March 21, 2016, 10:11:43 am »
I've gone through the Oak WiFi Config process but it refuses to connect to Particle to register.  I tell it to use my WiFi network and it says it will reboot.  It never actually completes the process from there (Your Oak did not connect to the cloud).  When I connect to its AP I see system_version of 6 and version_string of 1.0.0.

The LED's do the triple-blink so it appears to be good, but for some reason the OakSoftAP app always says that its's not registered.

Also, is it normal for connection to the Oak's AP to take around 30 seconds?

if you connect to the oak's AP and go to 192.168.0.1/particle in your browser what does it say?

That's an excellent question.  Right now, it's not even showing its AP.  I've restarted it but no change.  No idea what to do now.

You can change the wifi settings by de-powering, jumping pin 1 to ground, and plugging it back in. This should force it back into AP mode where you an see it. Once it has wifi settings, it doesn't broadcast itself anymore so this is necessary.

It returns "Not connected"

Thanks.  This did it.

Well, somehow, after shorting the P1 to GND to re-enable AP, the next setup attempt succeeded and it's now on Particle!  Very frustrating, but now I have something working!

Yeah, that's been happening to me as well. I've has ones seem so corrupt themselves and not show up on particle after they had been, or disconnect from WiFi after a couple minutes never to return, or connect/disconnect over and over. I've saved the units via the OakRestore process, but going through the OTA update afterwards has taken anywhere from 2 to probably 10-20 tries. No idea why the huge range!
