Digispark Pro Battery Power
« on: January 12, 2016, 10:09:36 pm »
I just dug up my Digispark Pros that I got from the Kickstarter for a little project I'm working on for my son. I need to battery power it using a little 120 mAh 7.4V LiPo that I have. The pinout chart shows that VIN will take 6V - 16V. However, when I connect the LiPo to VIN and GND the board quickly heats up and let off a little smoke. It appears to work still but I'm now not sure how to power this thing. Was there a problem with the Kickstarter boards? Is there something else I need to do to make this work?

Thanks!

Ian

No ideas? Is anyone else powering these using VIN?

It certainly should be able to take 7.4v - was the polarity correct? Any circuit attached to the Oak that could have had a short? Is the LiPo tested good and working?
