I hate to resurrect an old topic, but I'm having the exact same issue.

I'm trying to upload the blink sketch, and getting an "SAM-BA operation failed" message.  I have the modified IDE (v1.5.5 with the DigiX addons v08) and selected the "Digistump DigiX (standard)" board from the board menu, the serial is set to ttyACM0 (The only option available). When I program, I get this output:
Code: [Select]
Sketch uses 10,840 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 524,288 bytes.
Erase flash
Write 10920 bytes to flash

[                              ] 0% (0/43 pages)
[======                        ] 23% (10/43 pages)

SAM-BA operation failed
[=============                 ] 46% (20/43 pages)

I've erased and reset the board. Disconnected and reconnected. I've also uninstalled modem manager and verified its not running. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

I'm sorry for wasting peoples time. The issue turned out to be a faulty cable setup. Everything is working as designed now!
