replace attiny45 with attiny85
« on: February 02, 2019, 12:26:58 am »
Hi
i have a sparkfun attiny85 board. i installed its drivers and program it with arduino and use digiusb and everything work well. then i replace attiny85 with attiny45 in the board. but in this case drivers dos not recognize by computer and an "unknown device" appears in device manager...
according to similar structure of both microcontrollers (attiny85 and attiny45) why this problem happens?
please help me to solve it.
thank you...

When you replaced the Tiny85 with the Tiny45, did you make sure to load the Tiny45 with the Micronucleus (or compatible) bootloader? The bootloader is the program on the microcontroller which allows the chip to emulate USB and talk to the Arduino IDE without need for an actual ISP programmer. The tutorial page which describes programming the Digispark (https://digistump.com/wiki/digispark/tutorials/connecting) has a nice description of the bootloader in the first three paragraphs.

The actual Digispark bootloader was written for the Tiny85 (which is not exactly compatible with the Tiny45,) however there are a couple of pages which discuss the Tiny45 version. One is here: https://github.com/micronucleus/micronucleus/issues/71.
