Since there doesn't seem to be any native Joystick control panel on the Mac I though't I'd share this program, as it is working great for me to analyze joystick position and button presses:

I am not affiliated with the software but this person did a great job with it and it works great.   It's minimal interface is perfect for checking wether you are wired up properly and ready to go. Simply Program the Digispark Joystick example (or you own Joystick code) wait 5 seconds and start the Joystick tester and select "Digispark".  WIth some quick wiring you can read analog sticks, digital sticks and buttons.
