in need of a idiots guide to digix wifi
« on: June 15, 2014, 03:42:07 am »
Hi, iam having problems with wifi server example,

ive uploaded DigiX "DigiFi/serverExample". On running it gets an ip address 192.168.0.2 but when i type either 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.0.2/i get the wifi admin page not the html test request.
192.168.0.2:8080, 127.0.0.1:8080 i get error.

ive looked in forum and cant find anything. so iam assuming that  iam missing something simple.

Arduino sftware:- Board seleted is digiX(WDT enabaled) baud Rate 9600 in admin and code.

while the program is running i think digix is reseting it self, pin13 led flashes then i get a beep from the computer and divice manager refreshs??

i've also found a another problem. the digiX dose not like usb extention cables for some reason. each cable was tested on a mega and all work. but not with the digiX

I assume, that you are giving you the answer yourself:
Quote
digiX(WDT enabled)

I bet, that you have no watchdog reset in your code. So the watchdog is resetting your sketch, as this is what the watchdog is for.
Choose "Digispark DigiX (standard)", and you are fine!

Hi all.

I am getting the same error too. Admin page opens. But I have used Standard DIGIX. With Arduino as isp. I am not sure if choosing a isp has to do anything with this.
And doin repeatedly my wifi is corrupt. Finally i have reset it. Not able to save the password for STA mode.
Even if it connects , i get only Admin page. Not able to send html requests. It says "404 not found".

Any idea ?

thanks,
Manish

When you are getting the same error, I am almost sure, that you have used the "WDT enabled" version of the DigiX.
That is the most thinkable reason, that the DigiX is resetting itself!

The problem from Amus3d was solved, when he switched to the standard version.

And yes, you are right, that the programmer option has no influence at all for the SAM3X8E controller based boards.

If your board is resetting by other causes, I would ask you to open another thread with an example code, showing that behavior.
For an example code, try to reduce your program to a bare minimum, where the error (here resetting) still occurs.
