Run Marlin Firmware on DigiX

Hello Everyone!
I would like to be able to run reprap firmware like marlin,sprinter,...ect. on the digix. I know its a different processor but how much code would have to be changed? I am a novice when it comes to programming. The faster processer and sd card would make this a big improvement over the mega 2560 board. Does anyone know if the ramps board will work with digix?

Have you searched the web for  'REPRAP "Arduino DUE"' ?
I have seen in different faires some repraps with an DUE connected to.

Some reprap electronics are already based on the arduino Due, for instance : http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Duet

There is a firmware for that already, which might be an easier starting point for porting to digix : https://github.com/T3P3/RepRapFirmware


Also the R2C2 electronics is based on a different ARM processor, but still it might be easier to start from their firmware rather than from Marlin which is meant for AVR based arduino megas.


The latter have been around for longer so it might be more stable/feature complete.
