Title: Actual dimensions of Digispark
Post by: jakob on October 23, 2012, 02:11:05 pm
I am looking for the actual dimensions of the Digispark. The base plate is 17.5mm x 19mm, but what about the USB Connector and what about the height? What's the bounding box of a Digispark with an additional shield on top (so I only have to add the height of components soldered at the shield)?

I think about putting a Digispark in a 2x2 DUPLO brick. There is at least room for 25mm x 25mm x 15mm without limiting the stacking properties of the brick, so height might be the limiting factor, depending on what is added to the Digispark.

Here is a good start: https://s3.amazonaws.com/digispark/dims.jpg

Height without headers: under 5mm
With headers: about 13mm
With proto PCB on top (with male headers on the proto pcb): about 19mm

You could maybe get within the 15mm if you left the female headers off the Digispark and used a male header to solder the shield directly to the bottom of the Digispark, and then it would just depend on component thickness
