Title: charlieplex building hint
Post by: scruss on February 14, 2013, 06:17:07 pm
After accidentally frying some LEDs while building the charlieplex board, I updated the digispark:tutorials:led (http://digistump.com/wiki/digispark/tutorials/led) to include LED alignment tips. These were modified from Jimmie P Rodgers' Make the LoL Shield (http://jimmieprodgers.com/kits/lolshield/makelolshield/#step2) tutorial. I hope it helps more people build the board successfully.

Now I need to wait until the Digispark store is properly open to buy a replacement LED shield  :-[

scruss - thanks for the contribution - great to have folks add tips for what worked (or didn't) for them!

Glad it works for folks. I scored a bunch of 3 mm RED LEDs from the local electronic parts store (which also happens to be a Home Hardware) and desoldered the previous disaster. Thanks for making the boards so thick and well-plated, Erik — it survived my ham-fisted lead-free desoldering, and came out good as new.

Didn't quite get all the LEDs perfectly straight, but it's good enough.
