Title: Powering Digispark Pro directly with 3S 11.1V LIPO battery
Post by: rimakus on May 16, 2017, 03:11:20 am
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone tried to power up Digispark Pro using 11.1v (12.6v when fully charged) LIPO battery via VIN pin. I know it says 6-16v on the diagram but usually other manufacturers recommend 7-12v ranges e.g. I am afraid that it could be too much for it.
Thanks in advance.

I have powered a pair of powered goggles with 48.75 amp lipo battery. Which is overkill since the goggles only use 380 mAh @ 12 volts, when in use. Big batteries do not damage low amp electronics, instead, your left with a battery that holds a charge for a very very long time. Now.. big batteries can explode or do nasty things if there is a short, since you probably don't have a fuse on your 3S 11.1V lipo.

Even a fast acting 1 amp fuse, or something like the resettable LittelFuse 1.25 Amp fuse might be something to look at:
