Digispark Not Recognised
« on: June 07, 2013, 07:47:47 am »
Hi there,

I have followed the instructions to the letter from the wiki i.e.:

  • Downloaded Arduino from the sourceforge link and unzipped
  • Installed the driver
  • Executed Arduino and then selected board and programmer as Digispark.
  • Clicked upload and asks for device to be plugged in
  • Nothing happens when plugged in
  • Arduino then times out
I've tried on Ubuntu 13.04 too following the linux guide, plugging in the Digispark and looking at dmesg|tail shows this:
[ 4095.533477] usb 4-3: new low-speed USB device number 14 using ohci_hcd
[ 4095.673388] usb 4-3: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[ 4095.917244] usb 4-3: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[ 4096.157117] usb 4-3: new low-speed USB device number 15 using ohci_hcd
[ 4096.564901] usb 4-3: device not accepting address 15, error -62
[ 4096.700829] usb 4-3: new low-speed USB device number 16 using ohci_hcd
[ 4097.108573] usb 4-3: device not accepting address 16, error -62
[ 4097.108624] hub 4-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3
[ 4100.906466] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3
[ 4102.297670] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3
I have tried varioud USB board, directly, through a cable and through a hub, all the same.  I assume this is faulty but it's frustrating as the LED is blinking when it's plugged in.
Currently it's not even an expensive paperweight, it's not heavy enough...
Could someone offer some advice and what is the returns process please?
Thanks,
Johnny
