Arduino 1.0.3 on Mac failure
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:39:50 pm »
I downloaded and unzipped the files for mac and tried to open the arduino 1.0.3 version and absolutely nothing happened. I searched for another version of 1.0.3 for a different board and it started fine, it of course will not play with digispark. Running  Mac OS 10.5.8, I hope I can get some help with this.

Had the same issue with the official arduino zipfiles.
That one could start after using unzip on the commandline.

I now tried unzipping in 5 ways but it won't work at all :(

Hope there will be a working version for osx soon...

Hi,

I had the same problems: I tried different programs to unzip the file I downloaded. Either I got an error message while unzipping and it did not unzip or it did unzip but I could not start Arduino afterwards.

Here is what worked: I downloaded the http://s3.amazonaws.com/digispark/builds/arduino-1.03-osx-digispark-2013-01-08.zip. Placed the zip on the desktop. Right click: open with. Then I selected different program. And then /System/Library/Core Services/Archivierungsprogramm (Archive Utility ... the one with the green icon) ... it unzipped the package correctly and I could start Arduino with Digispark support...

Hope this helps!
Chris

PS: I am using Mac OS X 10.7.5

Yep, that did the trick, I ended up using unstuffit and the Arduino program ran fine. Thanks for that help!

Odd. I didn't have any problems on OSX 10.7.5. Just double-clicked the file, and it unzipped into a folder just fine.

It seems to be something to do with the unzipper! Very odd, I was initially using Zipeg and then was successful with unstuffit. So it would depend on whatever is the default unzip app for your mac, whether you hit that problem or not.
