USB 3.0 and smoke

Hi..

I'm very new to Digispark. In fact I am new to electronics. 

I bought a digispark pro and I'm slowly learning how to use it.

Today I soldered the little multipin things that came with is so I can now plug it onto a breadboard. I'm pretty good at soldering and I am confident I did a good job there.

I had it on the board and I could not get it to start up. No light. Darn. Flat batteries.. No matter I'll plug in the USB to power it.

I plugged the USB cable into the USB 3.0 port on the front of my pc then plugged the usb into the Digispark pro still mounted on the breadboard.,

Instantly smoke came out of the Digispark and I unplugged it.

What the?  I then plugged it into the USB 2.0 port on my laptop. It did not light up like it had power but the LED flashed due to the 'Blink' app I had installed on it.

Did i miss something somewhere that says you cannot plug these into a USB 3.0 port?

Quite confused here. Got any pics? When you say you plugged into a USB 3.0 port, how did you connect to the Spark? With the micro usb connector on the board? Also sounds like you had some other pins connected on a breadboard, at the same time? Did you use pull up resistors?

Digispark Pro, MrCookie, so has a microUSB connector.

Not sure what's going on there... it still sounds like something was shorted.
