DigiSpark - USB Device Not Recognized
« on: February 02, 2013, 08:39:14 am »
I bought three digisparks through the original kickstarter, and I can't program them. Here's the skinny:

OS: Windows 7
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H
IDE Software: http://s3.amazonaws.com/digispark/builds/arduino-1.03-win-digispark-2013-01-05.zip

Steps taken:
Successfully ran "~\Digispark Ready - Arduino 1.03\Digispark - Windows Driver\InstallDriver.exe"
Selected "Board->DigiSpark (Tiny Core)" in IDE
Selected "Programmer-> Digispark" in IDE
Verified and began upload for "Start" example program
Plugged in DigiSpark when prompted

I've tried plugging the Digispark into the built-in hub on my keyboard, I've tried the front-facing USB ports on my tower, and I've tried the USB slots attached directly to the motherboard standalone and via a USB extension. One of the chips always always always gives me the titular error, "USB Device Not Recognized".

I can get another chip to appear to program correctly (it's not plugged into anything) using the extenstion cable straight off the motherboard. Should I assume the device is faulty? How do I go about getting a replacement?

So to be clear because you say

but then you seem to just have an issue with the one that is malfunctioning.

Are the other two working?

If the other two are working then you probably have a bad one - email us at support at digistump dot com and we'll get you fixed up.

If none, or two aren't working then something else might be at play.
