The main objective of the blink(1) is to provide visual feedback of activity on a USB port
What if you don't have line of sight or you are visually-impaired?
Porting an algorithmic sound generator could provide the answer

Main requirement would be to convert the note sequence to PWM output and perhaps have a butting to allow the generator polynomial to be changes
