Defective Digispark?
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:40:09 pm »
Hi,

Let me start by thanking you for running such a great Kickstarter campaign! I love the Digispark and have already used it to build some projects that I've been wanting to complete for quite some time.

I have three Digisparks, two of them work great but the third seems to have a problem connecting to my computer. When I plug it in it briefly shows up in the device manager as an "Unknown Device" with the following status shown in the device property window:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

The default sketch (flashing LED/cycling RGB) seems to work once the Digispark starts, just the USB connection seems to be non-functioning. Have you encountered this before? If not, can you recommend any steps to troubleshoot the problem?

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks,

Well, it appears this problem was my own doing. I desoldered the headers and the Digispark started working. I must have used too much solder and bridged some of the pins. It might be a good idea to suggest that people test their Digisparks before soldering anything.  :)
