Flashing Error: "Oak is back online before flash sucessfull"
« on: March 28, 2016, 03:53:28 pm »
Hi everybody,

I've been working with my Oaks for a week or so now with few problems.  Yesterday I spent a few hours iterating on some code in the Arduino IDE and uploading with no problems.  Then, at some point, I could no longer upload code to the Oak.  Each time, it would start flashing, fail and I would get the error message in the subject, "Oak is back online before flash sucessfull."  I booted the Oak up and reset the ssid and password - it connected to wifi fine -  and checked on particle.io that it was connecting there (it was - little blue dot beside the Oak's name.)  Everything seems fine.  Today, I took it to work to test with a different wifi setup with the same results.  Occasionally, the Arduino IDE would tell me the Oak had been flashed successfully - but it hadn't - the new code had not been uploaded and the next upload would inevitably result in the flashing error again.

Has anyone else had similar problems?  Is there a known fix?

Cheers,
Rich.

Well, a bit more trial and error and I'm now able to upload new code again.  I'm not quite sure what caused the problem in the first place, but I was able to reboot my Oak (with pin1 to ground) and could flash it again.

If I figure out what caused the problem, I'll post it here.

Cheers,
Rich.
