Digispark stopped working, don't know what else to do
« on: September 23, 2015, 11:10:37 am »
Hi everyone, i need your help with this.

i followed all the instructions for connecting the Digispark from the wiki page. I uploaded the blink example and worked as a charm, then, uploaded the DigisparkKeyboard, also worked like a charm, but then the problems started. Every time i connect the digispark, the red led does not blink, it's on all the time, and the board does not appears as usblib or something similiar in the device manager like before. I've tried everything from every post in the forum:

-Deleted and reinstalled arduino software
-Deleted and reinstalled board from boards manager
-Deleted files from Inf folder, drivers folder, appdata folder, drivers from system32
-Using usb hub, usb extension cable, usb ports 3.0 and 2.0
-Tried in Windows 8.1, 8, and 7in three diferent laptops
-Downloaded old and new drivers from GitHub

I get to the point where it's recognized asi Unknown Device but nothing more.

No luck with nothing, i don't know what else to do. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have a second one to try?  Have you soldered anything to the unit?

defragster, thanks for replying. I do not have another unit to test, they are hard to find in my country. Nothing soldered to the board yet. I'm suspecting hardware malfunction, but i can't assure that as the device (sometimes) is recognized as unknown device.

Oh, an important thing to add is that when i connect the digispark into usb 2.0 port, after 5 seconds i hear the device connection sound from windows, constantly repeating. Maybe corrupted sketch uploaded into the digispark? Would it be a good thing to try a "hard reset" of the device?
