Digispark BT Robot Car Kit
« on: January 05, 2015, 10:24:29 am »
Hi To all
Received my robot car kit, and have managed to assemble it with
the poor assembly instructions which didn't match
What has me stumped are the headers which mount on the CPU board
You get:
1 -  CPU board
1 - 3pin header
1 - 9pin header
1 - 7pin header [2pins removed]
How is the 7pin header mounted ?
I think the 2 missing pin go over pins 11, 12 on the CPU board
Can anyone help.... I can't seems to locate info on this.....
Thanks

This is a mistake. I bought 2 digispark pros, one with my robot kit and one standalone for another project. Both were received with a 3pin header and 2, 9pin headers. You should get them to replace the header.

The issue I found with the robot kit is the spacing of the motor attach blocks did not match the spacing of the holes on the board. Similar problem for the free-running wheel. The width was correct but the length was wrong. This is fixable by re-drilling but a pain.

Finally, my motor control board had a bad channel so only one motor worked. This has been replaced by digistump.

Everything else was great. I haven't tried the bluetooth board yet. That is next.

Let me know how your assembly goes.

Bob Tausworthe.

@ncc1702 - it sounds like you got a faulty or broken header - there should have been 2 9 pins and a 3 pin. Send us an email support at digistump dot com - and we'll send you a replacement!
