Mac connection problem
« on: December 27, 2014, 05:52:26 am »
Hello,

I have two DigiSparks rev4 which won't connect to my MacBook Pro late 2011 (OS X 10.6.8 ).

I installed the Arduino IDE Digistump 1.5.8B, tried various USB cables and hubs, both USB ports of the MBP and of another MB Air.
All I get is "Running Digispark Uploader... Plug in device now... (will timeout in 60 seconds)". 5s after plugging it in, the Digispark's Pin-1-LED starts its default blinking. My code isn't uploaded and the upload message never changes.  :(

The IDE's status bar says "Digispark (Default - 16.5mhz) on COM1".
Is that ok? When developing for adafruit Trinkets a Mac serial interface "/dev/cu.usbmodem..." is shown here (Arduino 1.0.6).

What can I do and how can I see if the Digispark is connected?

thanks
Frank

Board setting looks right.  Did you get your sparks direct?  If not scan the wiki and compare your items to photos.

Did you ever have them working on a prior IDE? If not you might install old school version in case there is a break in the new.  If you did install old make sure to remove it to avoid confusion that I've seen on Windows.
