« on: July 01, 2014, 03:09:19 am »
0) I bought digispark pro otg(1-2 weeks ago , hoping it will get soon. any idea when?

i wandered if for simple host-android , arduino slave do i need otg support on arduino?

1)  can I buy digispark(not pro) or arduino uno and connect android device through otg-usb cable
power the arduino and communicate via usb.
without special chip. on either side?

or do i need the android device with otg(say moto g) and /or arduino with otg support.

2) any code/software package for android-arduino via usb do anybody can  recommend?

best regards

jossie.

Wiki search only shows OTG documented for DIGIX - Dougal noted this 6/20.

Did you back the PRO BETA on KickStarter?  If so you should have confirmation email to check status.  Haven't seen notes on non-Beta or post KickStarter near shipping yet.

WWW search shows lots of OTG Arduino notes:
http://www.bing.com/search?q=arduino+otg&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=arduino+otg

I found two apps for my Android Phone to OTG program standard Arduino - I only sampled Free version Apps but saw it work.  That suggests anything can be done there - on supported devices.

hi defragster.

I pre-oredred  and payed through amazon payments, got a receipt.(i'm new so i guess I'm not a backer and won't get the beta)
ordered from this

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/digistump/digispark-pro-tiny-arduino-ready-mobile-and-usb-de
[removed for security - don't share your pre-order links]

"
The Digispark Pro is the cheapest, ready to go, easy to use, mobile hardware development platform!

With Bluetooth Classic, BLE, and Wi-Fi shields and examples for Android and iPhone - and USB Serial (built-in) connectivity for Android (devices with USB OTG supporting Serial devices) .

"
I understood from that that the device has USB-OTG.now i'm not sure what it means "built in connectivity for android.

and thankk u. for the OTG info.

I'll probably try to buy also the non pro digispark, i understand it's in stock and seems cheap.

best regards

Hi Jossie@katysei

The KStart Beta planned for May and shipped June - the other PRO rewards are quoted/planned July.  You can count on updates from Erik as time nears and there is stuff to share.  Erik had to make and ship Pro&Beta shields to 175 backers - next shipment will be to 1,600+ folks and 10,000+ various boards.  It topped $103k on KStart and the Beta Units value under $6k - and that doesn't count the late addons . . . luckily final production will have assistance.
