digiX doesn't obtain an IP Address via DHCP
« on: May 04, 2014, 11:04:25 am »
The DigiX login into my wifi network is successful. When I enable the "Obtain a IP address automatically" in STA settings, I can't see a IP address in the web interface.
When I disable that setting and enter the values manually, everything works fine.

It seems to me, that the DHCP feature doesn't work.

Does DHCP work at anybody?

Have you tested it with any other networks?

If you leave DHCP on and run a sketch is it able to connect to your network?

I've never had a report of DHCP issues - nor have I ever seen an issue with it - I use DHCP will all of my DigiXs. So I'm wondering if it is having an issue with your particular router.

I've also seen it take 'a bit' of time on that screen. It doesn't fill in immediately. I might even have had to switch to a different page and come back to it. Try waiting or switching pages then switching back, if you haven't already.

If you have access to your router configuration, try deleting the Digix MAC from the DHCP settings, and then attempt to reconnect.  If that fails, see if your router will allow you to reserve an IP address for the Digix and then just assign that address to the Digix.
The second option does not truly fix the DHCP issue, but it does get your Digix on the network without having to enter an IP each time, and then you can run down the DHCP issue at your leisure.
