@serchend - on the back of the LCD unit there are two right angle pins with the label LED above them - these should have a jumper on them, if they don\'t the backlight will be off. If they do not have a jumper check the packaging if you still have it or you can bend them together and put a bit of solder between them (try bridging them first to see if it works)
