Why now awaiting approval?

I just created a new thread in "DigiX Projects", which suddenly needs approval.
I don't see any reason of misbehaving fro my side, so I assume, that this is now a general setting to avoid spam.

However I think, that this will kill a forum like this.  I believe, that such a method should only be used for new users and their very first posts.

Oops, that message does not need approval?  Is that setting only for sub-forums active??

It might depend on the message content, some forums spam filters are triggered by specific words...

Yep - each post gets a score based on content - too high a score and it has to wait for me to approve that it isn't spam - 90% of it is spam, so it seems to work well. I approved your thread.
