DigiX: System Sounds
« on: January 22, 2014, 04:45:11 pm »
Hello

I just got my DigiX up and running but I notice a system sound every time I compile a sketch onto the DigiX.  One sound before and one sound after the compile has completed.  It is the same sound that occurs when you plug a USB device in.  It is almost like a reset on the driver is occurring every time there is a compile.

Now, this doesn't effect anything as the compile still goes through, but the sound is distracting and it is somewhat worrisome. My question is, is this normal?

By the way, I am running Windows 7-64.

I double checked a compile with the normal Due and I do not here Windows system sounds, so must be something with the DigiX

It is normal - the way the DigiX and Due (Native port) work is when erased they revert to the hardwired bootloader and then get loaded up again and show up as the DigiX (or Due) once again - so they disconnect, become the USB bootloader, connect and get loaded and then disconnect and become the DigiX USB Device

Sound is annoying - but nothing to worry about technically
